Tanara H. Martin, MA.Ed. Certified Expressive Arts
My name is Tanara Martin and I am the founder of Arrowhead Ranch Journeys. I am thrilled that the work I believe in and have fun doing is being brought to you. This work combines my passion for Horses, Art, Nature, and People!
I hold a Masters degree in Counseling Education from Montana State University-Northern, and have worked as a counselor in the Montana school system for the past 13 years focusing on secondary school and career planning, social relational skills, and self-discovery. I have been working as a Transition/Commitment coach for the past 8 years helping clients seek new perspectives through creative solutions.
I am a certified Person-Centered Expressive Arts facilitator through the PCEAT Institute in conjunction with Meridian University. This work is based on Natalie Roger’s work and development of a process known as the Creative Connection; a process intertwining the expressive arts with self-discovery. Natalie Roger’s believed that there is a connectedness of one art form to another. Person- Centered emphasizes being open, honest, and authentic. I, as a facilitator bring these elements to you.
Horses have been a source of happiness as a child, and continued in life on the ranch. My life-long experience with horses, and the training I have received through the Human Equine Alliances for Learning association (HEAL) and the studying I have done on the concept of the Power of the Herd (POH); skills that have been successfully used in personal development, leadership, parenting, and education, have all moved me in the direction of the work I am offering. I have personally experienced the transformational power of working with horses as well as the arts in relationships, career and finding a balance in my world.
I live in the majestic state of Montana, part time in the Highwood Mountains at the ranch, and part time in the historic town of Fort Benton along the Missouri River. I conduct workshops in both locations. My husband is a rancher, my partner, and dad to our six (now grown) children whom we are very proud of.
